Color Game
Have the group sit in a circle. The leader whispers a color in the ear of the person next to him/her, and the color is then passed around the circle. The leader can continue to whisper colors in either direction so that multiple colors are going around in both directions.
The Journey
Have participants lie down and close their eyes, concentrating on what the leader is saying. The leader talks everyone through some relaxation exercises, breathing, etc. Then the leader describes a fantasy trip to a far-off land. The leader should ask questions about certain images or leaves some things open ended for the imagination.
Lemonade
Divide the group by twos and have them stand on opposite sides of the room facing each other. Each group decides among themselves a "character" that they will portray to the other team via a mimed action.
The group learns a chant: (A) Here we come! (B) Where from? (A) New York! (B) What’s your trade? (A) Lemonade! (B) Well give us some, if you’re not afraid!
Side A walks toward Side B performing their mimed action. When anyone from Side B guesses the character, Side A must run back to their side before being tagged by Side B. If tagged, they join Side B. Play resumes, by having Side B start the chant.
Lightning Clap Game
Participants stand in a circle. One person turns to the person next to him and claps. The clap continues around the circle.
Making a Picture with Words
Pass around a piece of paper. Have participants each add one quick phrase to it to form an image.
The Number Game
Have participants sit in a circle. Anyone can start by saying "one." From that point on, anyone can say the next number in sequence. However, if two or more people say a number at the same time, the whole group must start counting from "one" again. Try to get to as high a number as possible.
Pass the Pulse
Have participants stand in a circle holding hands with eyes closed. One person starts by squeezing the hand of the person next to them. The pulse moves around the circle until it gets lost.
The Question Game
Everything spoken must be a question; it can be simple, absurd, even have nothing to do with the last thing spoken. No one is allowed to make a statement, pause, hesitate, or repeat a question. Have participants stand in a circle. One person begins by asking the person next to him/her a question. The person asked must ask the next person another question. If any of the two questioners repeats a question or takes too long, he/she is out.
Red Ball/Yellow Ball
Have participants stand in a circle. Throw an imaginary ball to someone in the circle using the following format by calling their name and the color of the ball. The person catching the ball repeats the color, thanks the thrower, and throws it to a new person in the same fashion. Add more imaginary balls of various colors to keep everyone focused on what balls are where.
Seven Samurai
Line up seven participants and give them numbers. Then take them out of the room and change their order. When they return, the other participants have to put them back into numerical order.
Sound Ball
Have participants stand in a circle. Throw an imaginary ball accompanied by a sound of choice to another person in the circle. The person has to then catch the ball by making the same sound with which it was thrown to them. Then he/she throws it to someone else using a different sound. Limit the amount of time a person can hold the ball and don’t repeat any sounds.
Three Things
Divide everyone into pairs. Have one person from each turn around and change three things about his/her wardrobe. Have them reverse roles and guess what has been changed about the other person.
Zip-Zap-Zop
Have participants stand in a circle. Grap an object and pass it around in the group. Person A has the object and says "Zip" while passing it to Person B, who says "Zap" while passing it to Person C, and Person C says "Zop" while passing it to another person and so on.
Stop/Go/Jump/Clap
Have participants walk around aimlessly. Call out these commands and have them obey: Stop, Go, Jump, or Clap. Reverse the commands (i.e when you say "stop," they go; when you say "jump," they clap; and vice versa).
